The Southeast New Mexico Veterans' Transportation Network provides transportation for our local veterans (and spouse or caretaker) to and from their doctors' appointments/ medical procedures, free of cost to the veteran.
The Southeast New Mexico Veterans' Transportation Network was started in February 2013. Each year, we transport an average of 1,400 veterans and travel over 187,000 miles. All of the drivers are 100% volunteer. Most of them are veterans themselves or relatives of veterans. The network uses thirteen vans. Ten are in Roswell, one in Lovington, one in Carlsbad, and one in Artesia. The network recieves no goverment assistance. It is sustained by volunteers, contributions, donations, and foundation grants for new vehicles.
Southeast New Mexico Veterans' Transportation Network is the only organization of our kind operating at absolutely no cost to the veterans' in South East New Mexico and West Texas.
Veterans of all branches, ages, and conditions are helped.
All drivers are 100% volunteer, receiving no pay for thier time.
Whatever the situation, we always try to help our veterans.
Locally founded, funded, and operated.
The network is always in need of more drivers, even if it is a short drive to Artesia once every few weeks, every driver is important. Here are a few perks of being a driver to SENM Veteran"s Transportation Network.
Vans go to Albuquerque only on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. To Artesia and all other destinations, Monday through Thursday.
As much notice as possible is appreciated, but at least 3 working days are needed to make arrangements. For Artesia, we recomend and appreciate schedueling appointments after 8 AM. For Hobbs, Clovis, and Carlsbad, after 9 AM. For Albuquerque and Lubbock, TX, after 10 AM. The latest appointment time that we can accomidate is 1:30 PM.
You can be picked up at your house or you can drive to the network and get on the van there. The network has a wheelchair accessible van and a complete handicap accessible van. Please let us know in advance if you require one of these vans.
You need to have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. You will need to deliver a paper copy of each to the office at 2114 West Second Street in Roswell, New Mexico.
